Thirty-year-old Joe Parkinson wanted to be a chef, a fireman or a dog breeder when he was growing up in Salford. Now living in Manchester, he is operations manager at the Waterside Arts Centre. Whilst playing guitar in a band, Joe worked front of house at Manchester’s Library Theatre and the Waterside Arts Centre in Sale, before being made duty manger at the Waterside. He left his band when he was offered the job of operations manger and hopes to one day run a large theatre. He says: "start at then bottom and work your way up".
