Stage Managers - London
This is a voluntary position
Finborough Theatre Internship Programme.
We present new British writing, UK premieres of overseas drama, particularly from the United States, Canada, Ireland and the English-speaking world, music theatre and an idiosyncratic selection of unjustly neglected work from the last 150 years.
We focus not only on the play, but on the total theatrical experience - regularly attracting the finest emerging directors and designers to work with award-winning actors.
Stage Managers
To celebrate its 30th anniversary year, the multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre presents an anniversary festival of thirty new works for the stage by thirty UK and international playwrights, discovered, developed or championed by the Finborough Theatre, featuring many premieres of brand new plays by some of the famous playwrights who began their careers at the Finborough Theatre.
Vibrant will take place between Tuesday, 25 May and Saturday, 19 June. We require competent Stage Managers (ideally who are able to operate) who can commit to this period and work on several of the shows. The 30 plays are rehearsed readings which will each involve around 1-2 days rehearsal followed by the performance. The Stage Manager will be required to:
- Liaise with the Directors in the run up to rehearsals so that contact is maintained and the Directors’ requirements known (i.e. lighting and sound)
- Arrive 15 minutes before rehearsals begin to open and prepare space
- Ensure the company's welfare and maintain a good working knowledge of all relevant health and safety legislation for a good working practice
- Potentially operate the shows (which will most likely be simple lighting as they are one off rehearsed readings)
This is a great opportunity to gain stage management experience over this exciting and busy period.
