Mandinga Arts researches, designs, creates and delivers extraordinary and innovative outdoor performance costumes, floats and processions, engaging communities in collaboration with skilled professional artists, drawing on European, Latin American and African traditions, and continuously reinventing.
Project and Administrative Assistant Internship
We are currently recruiting for a Project and Administrative Assistant Intern to join our small and busy team in the Mandinga office and studios in South West London.
The successful candidate will work as part of our core staff team under the supervision of the Company Project Manager / Administrator to provide administrative support to all aspects of Mandinga’s work. The candidate will have the chance to experience a variety of tasks and responsibilities that contribute to the coordination of our projects and the running of the company and assist in the build up to Mandinga’s participation in the Thames Festival this September.
Skills/Experience Required:
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• A good level of computer literacy, specifically knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
• The willingness to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience of working in an office environment
• A flexibility and willingness to learn
• A willingness to work (occasionally) outside the normal working hours and participate
• in Mandinga Arts events
• An interest in Carnival Arts and public arts events
Hours and duration:
2 - 3 days per week over a period of 3 months
The next placement will commence from week commencing 12th April 2010.
A pre-paid oyster travel card will be provided to cover the cost of travel to and from work.

InterACT is a year-long training scheme for graduate actors, directors, designers and stage managers, run by Northumberland Theatre Company.
You are eligible to apply if you originate from Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Cleveland, Durham or Cumbria or studied for a degree in those counties.
All InterACT trainees receive a modest training bursary and some additional support for travel and relocation.
