Stage manager (touring production)

This is a Stage Manager on the book position.
You will

  • be responsible for preparing and being on the book for the show
  • work in rehearsals with the director and the acting team
  • call and run the weekly production meetings and ensure that all rehearsal notes are circulated to relevant parties
  • have organisational responsibility for calls in rehearsal and relay that information to the company in the office
  • be responsible for supervising the petty cash float for the production
  • be responsible both for ensuring the company’s welfare and checking that Health and Safety regulations are met in both backstage and Front of House areas where appropriate for the production
  • ensure that all stage management and acting company time sheets are completed and submitted on time to the Company Administrator
  • in conjunction with the Production Manager, ensure that the ITC/Equity contract is adhered to and ensuring that, wherever possible, no breaks are missed
  • submit show reports on a daily basis to the relevant parties

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

  • stage management experience in theatre including experience of being on the book during the running of the show
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of Health and Safety practice
  • excellent time management and organisational skills
  • IT skills, including Word/ Excel
  • experience of handling petty cash floats and budgets
  • ability to work unsupervised
  • ability to work in a team
  • commitment to equal opportunities practices

    Desirable:
  • clean driving licence
  • current first aid qualification
