House Managers; Security Personnel; Cleaners; Maintenance staff and Volunteer Co-ordinator
As a member of the Senior Management team the Operations Manager will head up the resources and facilities department for all activities both in and outdoors.
The key objectives of the post are to:
- to improve and maintain the resources and facilities
- to ensure all visitors experience the highest possible standards of service and customer care
- to manage the operational aspects on a day to day basis
JOB DESCRIPTION
License:
- act as premises license holder for the organisation, ensuring all licenses are up to date and adhered to, liaising with external authorities as required
- supervise the catering contractor’s role in adhering to the organisations license
Planning:
- contribute to the strategic planning for the future of the organisation in terms of the use of our resources and facilities
Management:
- manage the resources and facilities
- manage House Management staff, Security personnel, Volunteer Co-ordinator, Cleaners and Maintenance staff
- hold weekly operations meeting and ensure effective communication between all departments regarding the operation of the building
- be prepared to cover duty management shifts in the event of illness, holiday etc (such additional shifts will be paid)
Health & Safety:
- act as Health & Safety Officer for the organisation, liaising with external authorities and organisations as required
- ensure all Health & Safety records are kept up to date
- supervise the catering contractor’s role in adhering to Health & Safety standards
- report any notifiable accident or near miss to the relevant authorities
Site Management:
- supervise the use of the site for outdoor events and festivals
- supervise room setups for conferences
- act as keyholder and take responsibility for security of the building, including the alarm system, CCTV and keys
Maintenance:
- take responsibility for the maintenance and up keep of the buildings, grounds, equipment, vehicles and general facilities (not including specific specialist equipment in the theatre spaces which are the responsibility of the Technical Manager)
Health and Safety:
- take reasonable care for the health and safety of him/ herself and others who may be affected by his or her acts or omissions
- use protective equipment provided and follow safety instructions given
- co-operate with other staff members and the company in the operation of the Health and Safety policy
- not interfere with, or misuse anything provided in the interest of health and safety
- follow procedures for fire, first aid, hazardous substances, security and the use of equipment
- undertake risk assessments in respect of the operations as required
Internal Relationships:
- maintain positive working relationships with visiting artists, staff, tutors, volunteers and members of the board
External Relationships:
- maintain positive working relationships with the officers and members of the borough council, the town council, Arts Council England, sponsors and the local community
- relevant arts organisations, associations and professional bodies
Other:
- undertake any other duties reasonably requested.
