Job description

Customer relations team representative

Purpose of Post:

  • to provide a positive and effective first point of contact for most users, and to set excellent standards for customer service within the venue

Responsibilities:

  • to commit to a high level of customer service that will inform decision making and influence the delivery of services, exceeding the expectations of customers
  • to act as a focal point of information for customers and users of the centre
  • to deal with customer queries/ enquiries in person, by mail, email and telephone
  • to deal with sales transactions – selling tickets, merchandising, etc
  • to contribute to the management of the Databox system. This
    includes maintaining the database and general housekeeping – i.e. event
    creation, mailing extractions and generating sales and event reporting, etc
  • to provide support to marketing staff
  • to act as ushers for the programme of various events
  • to carry out duties in accordance with customer care policy
  • to collect and input data into customer satisfaction tracking database
  • to attend staff meetings and other meetings/briefings as required
  • to work flexibly and during unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends, as may be required by the rota
  • to act as duty manager in the absence of Customer Relations Managers
  • to provide reports and information as may be required in the execution of these duties
  • to work as a team with other members of staff, committing to the
    achievement of the centre’s corporate goals, and both recognising and
    supporting the contribution of each member to that common purpose
  • to undertake any training provided by the trust appropriate to the post
  • to commit to the diversity policy and practice
  • to undertake any other duties commensurate with these responsibilities as management may require from time to time

Essential Experience and Attributes

  • experience of dealing confidently and effectively with a wide range of people
  • genuine interest in working with customers
  • excellent communication skills
  • good self presentation skills
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • good computer skills – Microsoft Word & Excel
  • ability to work flexibly
  • ability to work in the evenings and at weekends as required
  • genuine interest in working in an arts environment

  • experience of handling sales transactions
  • experience of working with a customer database
  • experience of dealing with customers
  • able to work under pressure
  • ability to speak a relevant foreign language
