Box office manager A
Purpose of Post
An essential role representing the venue as the customer facing service of the venue. Responsible for all aspects of the box office, ensuring that the image and brand of the venue, efficiency and welcoming atmosphere of the box office remains at a consistently high level.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Management
- to manage the box office, its staff and ticket sales according to our policies
- to develop box office policies in conjunction with the Head of Sales and Marketing to meet overall aims and policies
- to work closely with the sales & marketing department to ensure marketing targets and strategies are met and developed
- tomanage and develop the work of the box office staff, to ensure efficiency and customer service remain at a consistently high level
- to ensure all box office staff have a thorough knowledge of events to enable the box office to give the best possible customer service
- to organise rotas and ensure there is sufficient staff coverage for all events
- to ensure that the security of box office is maintained at all times
- to be responsible for all monies taken during the day, providing the Head of Finance with detailed daily reports and ensuring the safety of monies at the end of the day
- to take responsibility for stock control of box office and marketing resources in relation to ticket sales
Box Office Systems
- to actively pursue an in-depth knowledge of the computerised box office system (Databox 4), online sales technology (currently Tickets.com) and website interface.
- To upload and administrate all events on to the Databox system
- to ensure Databox and its records are maintained, de-duped and accurate
Communications
- to actively participate in the development of our brand through a customer service policy and to protect the use of the brand in all forms of communication
- o support an internal communication policy so all staff, volunteers and board members have up to date knowledge about our activities
- to liaise with the Front of House Manager and Duty Manager’s to ensure that essential information is passed on and good communication is maintained at all times
- to provide reports to relevant departments on request in an efficient manner
- to maintain open communications with all users of the building
Other Sales Activity
- to keep up-to-date on current box office systems and practises
- to regularly attend performances, activities and press nights, within the venue and externally in the local community, as well as having an active interest in viewing work ahead of a performance
- to be fully conversant with our facilities and terms of trading
Health and Safety - ensure all operations are carried out within the relevant Health and Safety legislation and that staff work within the Health and Safety policy
