Armourer

Working in this department means making, co-ordinating and maintaining all the weaponry in any production–a highly specialist role. It would usually involve speaking to and working with the director, the fight director and the stage management team–particularly to ensure safety. The weapons might include daggers, swords, other knives and guns.

Many people who work in this role do so in a freelance capacity and therefore also work on TV and film productions as well as in the theatre.
