Musical theatre (degree)
On a musical theatre degree you will study performance skills with a special emphasis on singing and dance. Musical theatre students have to maintain a high level of physical fitness and often take part in body conditioning classes to improve their general strength and flexibility
Musical theatre degrees are a relatively new innovation and traditionally, performers are likely to have studied acting and had singing and dance lessons on the side.
The Conference of Drama Schools
The Conference of Drama Schools (CDS) is a group of 22 of the leading schools but there are many other very good courses all over the UK. You must apply direct to some of the CDS schools, whilst others are part of UCAS.
The Council for Dance Education and Training
The Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET) also accredits musical theatre courses
