Hair, make up and special effects (foundation)

Northbrook College Sussex says of its foundation degree in make up and hair styling for theatre and media:

“The course has been devised in response to industry and student-led demand for a practical training in make up and hairdressing techniques for theatre, film, tv, fashion, festival, carnival and entertainment arenas. As a specialist course it is based within the theatre department and includes modules in make up techniques, prosthetics, body painting, ageing, wig and hair dressing and period styling.”

Make up and special effects at Leicester College add props-making to this mix and University of Bedfordshire includes business skills on its courses.

It is possible to top up all three courses to a full degree by completing an extra year of study.
