Hair, make up and prosthetics design (degree)
The only degree course we could find was make up and prosthetics for performance at London College of Fashion, part of University of the Arts London.
London College of Fashion says of its degree: "If you are interested in pursuing a career in providing make up and prosthetics for performance then this highly creative, specialist course may be for you. The emphasis on shared learning…will allow you to form creative partnerships, reflecting the essentially collaborative nature of the industry. Performance will be central to your work, developing both individually and within small groups and working to given scripts towards speculative productions.
“Taught by practising film and TV make-up artists and designers, this course fosters your practical understanding of make-up, hair and prosthetics to a high level. Specific vocational skills developed throughout the course include make-up design, development and application for film, TV and theatre, historical wig dressing, sculpted wig construction, hair-styling, pastiche as well as advanced prosthetics and accurate casualty make-up.”
