I’m about to start work next month as costume supervisor for White Horse Theatre Company

What was your very first role in theatre?
A few months ago I was costume assistant for Shakespeare at The Tobacco Factory

A degree in design for the stage from Central School of Speech and Drama

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A theatre designer

What do you do all day?
Recently, costuming nine shows in three weeks! Sourcing, adapting and buying costumes.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Working with a team of people to realise costume designs

And the worst?
Long hours (but they’re fun long hours)

What’s your dream job in theatre?
A permenantly employed costume supervisor

Got any wise words for someone who wants to be where you are now?
Get as much experience in all roles of theatre as you can. Understanding the different roles within theatre is very important.
