Youth theatre director AIM OF POST
A key member of the education team, the youth theatre director will lead four satellite youth theatres.
Duties:

run satellite workshops in neighbourhoods across the city and the region

direct productions for the youth theatre at the theatre and in community venues

work with the literary department on the young writers programme

lead and deliver drama workshops in community settings with children, young people and adults

work with Director and Education Director to create, monitor and review the theatre’s education strategy within the context of the current artistic policy

work with Director and Education Director to devise and deliver a programme of education work for the theatre that reflects a commitment to the concept of life-long learning and that offers a broad range of opportunities for people regardless of age, ethnic background, gender, culture and ability

work with Director and Education Director to devise and deliver within the annual programme a range of participatory opportunities that foster self-expression, creativity and an enthusiasm for the performing arts

keep abreast of local, national and international developments in youth theatre and ensure that the theatre is at the forefront of development in such areas
